Eddie Iz Running - Tuesday 11th August
11 Aug 2009
Today was very hot and everyone got nice tans! Although Rob, who was filming from the rickshaw, might have mild sunstroke!
Eddie coped very well in the heat. He has been going slower and taking all the right precautions – he’s got his hat on, is regularly applying lotion and is drinking more. It really has been a nice day and, although it might be a bit too hot for running, there are certainly more people out.
Eddie ran through Wrexham and Chester today.
This morning in Wrexham Eddie met some young women from a local Sport Relief funded project, BAWSO (Black Association of Women Step Out.)
Chester was very busy and they went to see the cathedral. When Eddie took a break, the only shaded bench was in the work area behind some workmen who were re-doing the pavement. He signed one of their high visibility jackets to say thanks!
The final flag change for Wales happened today as he will not be entering the country again on his route.
His only injury today is a sore calf.
Wall’s have very generously stocked up the ice cream van so now Paul can do 99’s with strawberry sauce and chocolate flakes, Feasts, Twisters and Magnums. He also got some more tunes for the van so now it can play Chariots of Fire, The Ride of The Valkyries and not just Greensleeves!
BBC North West Tonight filmed Eddie today for tonight’s programme at 6.30pm and a journalist from the Daily Mirror ran to Wrexham with him.
Eddie is heading for Birkenhead today and will be crossing the Mersey tomorrow.

Great to meet Eddie today just outside Chester on his way up the A41. Sorry that the water bottle I had to offer was too big to take along on your run, Eddie, it was a hot one today! Tweeted some photos @365er ... and will be sponsoring your efforts later. It's a fantastic undertaking, Eddie, take care and pace yourself! Go Eddie!

I met Eddie in Bromborough. He only had 0.8 miles to go and it started raining good style. He must have felt like telling me where to go at this point, but was a true gent. Good on yer and best of luck. Don't forget to stretch after you run Eddie! http://www.realbuzz.com/photos-and-videos/u/Simon_Doyle/albums/629/

Saw Eddie today but had no idea such a megastar was amongst us. Our Factory is real close to the Birkenhead Ferry but dont know what time he will be passing. Rowan Atkinson wore one of our helmets on the original Red Nose day. What time will you be in Birkenhead ??????????
