Eddie IZ Running - Tuesday 1st to Thursday 3rd September
04 Sep 2009
Thursday
Started early to help save light at the end of the day, trying to beat the sunset each day! A lovely man ran with Eddie from Otterburn to Belsay. Stopped at a cafe in Belsay and Eddie had scones and coffee cake. Eddie also went through Ponteland today. His legs are feeling heavy today, probably because he needs more sleep! There is lots of rain and strong high winds so had to change his whole kit as it was completely soaked through. And his radio mic stopped working because of the rain too!
Tuesday was the first of September and Eddie had another flag change when he ran out of Scotland and ended up north of Otterburn. The sun came out but it started tipping down as soon as he reached the border. An ex-marine ran with Eddie for a while. There was so much rain that the film crew’s sound was effected! But the snack bar lady gave Eddie a free cup of tea which was very nice.
Wednesday was his day off. They had spent the night in the Redesdale Arms hotel which is the last hotel and the first hotel as you enter and exit the borders. Everyone managed to spend the day resting which was massively needed.
Eddie is REALLY going all out so please sponsor his massive efforts here!

SLASH!
Sadly i've only just heard about this amazing feat and have therefore missed the opportunity to support you through Liverpool. Not a lot surprises me these days but i must admit i'm gobsmacked. Absolutely fantastic what you are doing and what you have achieved so far. I've always admired you comedic genius and now have the utmost respect for you as a human being. 1,100 miles??? I still can't get my head around it, i'm getting knackered just thinking about it. I of course will be sponsoring you and wish you all the best for every inch of what's left. Keep going mate.

As a woman 'd'une certaine age' I can't help but feel maternal concern for you in your mad, heroic venture. Is your crew taking good care of you? Did you check with a cardiologist before doing this? Are you making sure you are eating protein and vitamins, and not just fuel/starch? You must take care of yourself, Cheri. You bring a special quality to the world stage and you are precious. Eddie There I was driving through one of my favourite parts of the world just south of the border on the A68 when i saw a lone runner. Then I saw an England Flag and i suddenly realised it was you. Sorry I couldn't summon anything more original than "Keep Going Eddie!". Hope the feet are recovering and i was gutted I didn't have my trainers in the car so i could have joined you for a couple of miles. Made a rough day, where a wind farm I am helping develop was refused consent that afternoon, a little brighter. Thanks Bill
