Eddie (amongst other comedians) has been the subject of various radio programmes including Turns Of The Century, a BBC Radio 3 series looking at the greatest comedy performers of the century, alongside Kenneth Williams, Tony Hancock and Max Miller, Everything You Wanted To Know About Busking for Radio 2, which featured a recording of one of his street performances and an interview with a perplexed Dave Lee Travis as part of a round-up of busking stories presented by John Hegley and The Smith Lectures, again for Radio 2, a six-part series presented by Arthur Smith with a selection of highlights from comedians past and present.
In May 1998, Eddie was a participant in The Improv Musical for BBC Radio 2. Narrated by Steven Steen, a team of musicians, singers and comedians improvised a musical based on suggestions from the audience.
In May 1997, Eddie was invited onto BBC Radio 1 Evening Session, with Steve Lamacq. The show was partly co-hosted by Eddie, who chose his top 5 favourite tunes, introduced the Supernaturals and 3 Colours Red sessions, playing records and answering calls from listeners and part interview about everything and anything, from his favourite records to his comedy.
Eddie also took part in Talking Comedy, a radio series where comedians talk about what makes them laugh, originally broadcast in 1995 and recently repeated on the BBC’s digital radio channel, BBC7.
Eddie was involved in the final episode of the series about The Goon Show, and joined fellow comedians such as Eric Sykes, Michael Palin and John Cleese in this tribute to The Goons.
