I'd suggest not "making nice" with the cabbies, morganna777, because they're...um...they're "goers," if you know what I mean. They go. Ya know? They're into uh...photographs. Nudge nudge; know what I mean? Could be taken on holiday. Could be. A wink is as good as a nod to a blind bat...if you know what I mean. Eh? Nudge nudge.

I'm really a new fan of Eddie Izzard, but I cannot wait to see him in this role. Friends of mine saw him in Joe Egg back in London and raved about him then. I was too stupid to check him out until after he'd already toured NYC, so I missed seeing him at the Garden. Darnitall! I did take a special trip to Toronto to catch his last Stripped stand-up gig, and it's only made me even more of a fan. The very day after I flew back to NYC I had the special treat of catching his improv with the Brit Invasion at Webster Hall. It was amazing to see him again even though he looked a bit exhausted from just completing his Canadian tour. Poor Eddie did seem run ragged. He looked like he needed a good pampering and relaxation. But it was a thrill to see him up there even if he was knackered (as he says). Feel so lucky that I'll get to watch him on stage (even if it isn't as himself) now that he'll be in Race. I hope the show gets better reviews once Eddie joins the cast. I can't imagine anything less from him. I admire his hard work. He does so much. How does he have time to be human?!? This New Yorker is now a die hard Izzard fan...no 2 ways about it! If I get the courage, maybe I'll even stay after the show to say hello. Would be a thrill for me, but it must be such a chore for him to always have to say hello to fans. Makes me think I should just leave him to relax after a long day of work. Not sure if I'll get the gumption to be a pest and try to shake his hand...we'll see.

Off subject, but watching Simone Signoret in Diabolique...thinking over and over, she really looks like someone else, especially in profile...just realized it's Eddie Izzard. Love you both.

i just saw RACE with James Spader in the role that Eddie is taking over. It is a great role, perfect for Eddie. I bought a ticket for June 30th. The play has enough tongue-in-cheek and dark humor in it to keep you in stitches. I have a great seat and I'm looking forward to going.

I wanted to write a quick follow-up to let everyone know that the play Race is well worth seeing. In all honesty Eddie Izzard played his character with the most depth and complexity out of all of the actors - though I thought all of them did a great job. The play is certainly not a comedy, but there are occasional wisecracks, and Eddie Izzard is far and away the best of the bunch at delivering them. I'm hoping to go back before the limited run is over. Definitely come see Race if you have the chance!
