Stripped Tout en Français!
16 Mar 2011

I'm loving this bit: "This uncontested Master of the Up Stand adulated on the other side of the channel like a rockstar" So true.

Tout en francais? It would be better if it were quelquefois en francais. Just make sure to do the bits in French, first, and then redo them in English with a bunch of hand gestures so that they know its the same. :)

Please tell me he's going to tour Australia again soon!!! I've been dying to see his latest show up close and personal rather than via a DVD...

I saw it on Wednesday. Typically brilliant and adorable. French reactions were mixed between delight and bewilderment (they have no real word for whimsy, after all). His own French has improved quite remarkably. He needs to slow it down a touch. I think I'll go back and see it again.

Got tickets for May 11th!! Eddie do whatever you want any other date BUT be prepared: we want the God-James Mason annoyed with his son IN ENGLISH!! Pleeeease, do some bits in Franglais! :-) Looking forward to it! PS: I have been living here for ten years and French is barely spoken in Paris :-)

Went to see the show last night. My hat's off to Eddie for taking the plunge and doing the show in French. Comedy isn't easy, even in your mother tongue, but I'm really inspired his choice to do the show entirely in French. The show itself was great, even if the French don't quite get the humour or references sometimes (the 'Sa Majestie des Mouches' definitely sailed over their heads). My pointer, Eddie should really embrace the fact that he is English and drop more English swear words into French sentences. I'm still cracking up after "Quoi the fuck"! Recommended to all and then after you can hit the Boulevard des Stripclubs et Pharmacies! Cheers and thanks for a great show!

I attended the show yesterday evening, and all I can say is "Bravo Eddie !!" I admire the fact Monsieur Izzard did it all in French :o)) The audience was so totally friendly, no matters if some jokes were not really "à notre portée", we had fun, that is ! Best wishes and bonne continuation ;o)

I saw the show yesterday, and for as much as I admire him for doing it all in french, I think he looses a lot of "himself" in the effort. Maybe yesterday was not his best day, but the show was very short, hardly 1 hour. I remain a big fun of him and if I ever have an occasion to go and seem him in English, I'll just jump on it, but I will not go to see him in french again. Be wishes to all!

Hello, been there yesterday for my Bday ! Front row, right in the middle. With Eddie making half his show without a microphone ? I felt like he was guest in my living room !!! Lucky me the show was only 60 minutes long. Laughing every 5 seconds ! It's almost 600 laughs during his show..... more than I can bear ! :-) I have written a little review on my blog (in French) here http://nemosandman.com/2011/04/14/eddie-izzard-ose-stripped-tout-en-francais-au-theatre-des-dix-heures/ This was a great moment and and incredible luck to have Eddie in Paris. We excuse his French for this second adaptation as he has really improved his skills in Molière language. His talent is really international. Eddie Izzard can make laugh any audience now...

Just attended the show this Friday... en français, sur le "boulevard du sexe et des pharmacies"... and it was fabulous, hilarious and witty (yep, that's compatible). It's a very challenging performance, more of a "stand in front of" than a "stand up" regarding the theatre, and Eddie succeeds brilliantly in taking its french audience with him, from the use of bazooka as a sketch-ender to the difficulties of warning latin-speaking people of upcoming danger when you're not that good at using the locative, not forgetting the bestest impression ever of a jazzy chicken.

I would love to see this, and I'm in Paris. Can someone tell me if the shows are sold out every night or can I show up at the box office the night of the show? I don't have a printer and can't buy a ticket online to print. Also, a woman traveling solo, any problems to consider thank you!
