Subject: Guilty pleasures...tv, books or movies - what are yours? Posted: 21 Aug 2012 - 02:23 BST Right now Famille Vespa is watching the 1980 Flash Gordon (which has the distinction of Queen's doing some of the signature music) and which as my son says, is in the category of not being able to avert your eyes from a train wreck.
My guilty Eddie movie pleasure is Circus, which features a full dorsal view of Eddie on the beach. |

Subject: Re:Guilty pleasures...tv, books or movies - what are yours? Posted: 21 Aug 2012 - 16:50 BST Hi,
I would have to say I've been "vintage" since I was 12. I have always enjoyed older types of ideas than moreso modern technology. Some guilty pleasures I like are: 1) Collecting old comedies from the UK on DVD: Some Mother's Do 'ave 'em, Are You Being Served?, Young Ones, etc...I have I would say a fairly decent collection. 2) Collecting old vinyls from thrift shops, Goodwill, Salvation Army. Yes, I will sift through the boxes. I specifically collect on bands from the UK & Australia during the Post-Punk era. Bands like: Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, The Church, Joy Division, The Police, U2, etc. As of today's date: I have 348 vinyls in my collection. When I go to England I go to Probe Records in Liverpool & shop around there. 3) I restored 3 stereo turntables to play those albums on. I am just weird that way. I love the non-digitalized scratchy sounds of an old vinyl. 4) I collect books on the city of Liverpool, any type, historical or musically related. 5) I love watching the shows over here that they play: Ballykissangel, Doc Martin, EastEnders, etc. 6) I have a MAJOR fascination for channel Create TV especially the Irish food shows & New Scandinavian Cooking by Andreas Viestad. I have his 2 books. 7) I MUST watch "In the Kitchen With David", "Lock & Lock Storage" & "Temptations Presentable Ovenware" shows on QVC. lol lol This is b/c I love to cook comfort foods. 8) I am huge FREAK/FAN of books by: Stephen King, James Patterson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Washington Irving, Ken Follet, any photography books on Post-Punk bands. I bored you all enough. Take care & Cheers. X. |

Nadia G is a total original, a performer along the lines of Eddie - take a chance and watch her, she's an actress/comedian who happens to have a cooking show with some truly unique co-hosts.

Books, books and more books. Love a rainy day in my big chair, good book and Oedipuss curled up on my lap. But I am cured of the guilt now, I deserve the relaxation. |
