Subject: Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 27 Nov 2012 - 15:55 GMT Has anyone here thought about, planned or even possibly booked an upcoming trip to see Eddie in another country?
If so, where are you going to? Did you find any good deals? My 40th is next year & being that I'm still single/childless/unwanted/not dating, I kind of have open opportunities. Yes, I do have family, friends & other things going on with my career, studies, residency & hobbies but, my love-life is non-existent yet, it's not like I'm not trying b/c, I'm on several sites of all types of profiles. Anyway, I was thinking of putting together a plan for possibly intertwining seeing Eddie with a few nights of similarly seeing Depeche Mode. They are doing a world-wide tour of Europe & the US in both 2013/14. I am NO rich woman by any sort or means but, I was thinking of since I don't ahve any love life, to try & plan something. I'm writing to ask whether anyone here has thought about, booked or planned to see Eddie in some other places other than your homeland? If you could go to do this, where would you go & have you even found deals with airlines, hotels? Just asking friendly, Cheers. E. |

I must ask you why you feel the need to point this out almost every time you post on here? Even if you were in a relationship would that stop you from doing things like traveling to see Eddie? Also why do you care if anyone from here is planning on traveling to see him? How would that affect your plans? |

I don't have anything really "planned" but, I have thought about things since, my 40th is next year & Depeche Mode are touring at similar countries therefore, I thought about possibly going to somewhere to see them both (budget pending, time-off-work pending, amount-of-work piled up & health-wise). By the way, thanks for being my friend & keeping in touch on Facebook. Cheers, e. |

Subject: Re:Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 27 Nov 2012 - 17:27 GMT Quote from 'Miss C' I bring this up to make somewhat of a point since, people might feel in their minds how could I do this (you know, travel & spend money at my age when most people at my age, already have children and/or a partner/spouse). If I was in a relationship, I still would like to see him somewhere, budget/work/health pending. Formost though, I would do this if my partner/spouse consented to go with me since, it's a partnership & I don't want to be greedy/selfish with any aspect of my life. I asked this question in a thread to just ask friendly & have a conversation. I thought by posting this thread I would spark some kind of conversation. Maybe even start a friendship or two since, that is another reason I come here. That wouldn't obviously affect my plans unless if I became closer friends with someone on here & those people were going, maybe we could all possibly meet-up. I know there's been meet-ups before. I had friends from here in the past that I spoke to via telephone & online but, they all left this site & we kept in contact through small e-mails. I know when I left this site in 2009, I was hated & I never spoke trash against or about anyone. It was MY problem because, I talked negatively here about myself & how I needed help. That is in the PAST however. Hey though, we all have our lives to live... Cheers. |

Subject: Re:Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 27 Nov 2012 - 23:49 GMT I've done a bit of traveling to see Eddie in different places (not as much as SOMEONE I know!) - UK, LA, Dallas, Toronto, Paris, and I have a ticket to one of his Berlin shows next April.
It's a lot of fun - I organized a dinner for the fans I knew who were going to be at the Dallas show, and we had a blast meeting up. I've met other fans at shows I've been to while traveling - it's generally a great experience. One of my fave people is a fan I've shared the experience of seeing Eddie and traveling to do so quite a bit .... we've had some adventures and great times and I miss her now she's not traveling so much. I chose Berlin (still not sure how I'll swing it financially yet) because I have friends in Germany, and promised one of them I'd get to her hometown when Eddie booked in, so here I go! He's a great excuse to see new places! Go for it, and don't let the turkeys bring you down .... A Valkyrie in NYC Twitter: V_NYC [Personal] / ValkyrieNYC [Photography] |

Subject: Re:Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 28 Nov 2012 - 10:10 GMT Well I don't know who V_NYC could be talking about... (cough) but I'll definitely be going to some gigs next year and I'm in Australia so will have to do some travel.
At this stage I'm planning on some UK gigs. I'd also like to get to Berlin but not sure whether I'll be able to get away - depends a bit on my work situation at that point. I've seen Eddie in quite a few countries, particularly when I spent a lot of time travelling for work and sometimes I specifically made the trip to see a show. I saw 'What About Dick' in April in LA. It was easier for me in the past because I was managing a team of people in London, New York, Toronto and Hong Kong and then working in another role that saw me spend about a quarter of one year in the US. I've also travelled to see other shows and musicians. Lots of people travel for sporting events, for example and no one thinks that's unusual - I know someone who follows the Australian cricket team everywhere. I bumped into some Aussies last time I was in LA who'd gone over to see Springsteen. I say go - have fun and you should try to meet up with some fans. I have made some great friends that way. And I've seen lots of other good stuff, besides Eddie, while I've been travelling. |

Are you still game? Please, add me on there if you would like as I would like to talk with you again! You and my roommate, Peter would go great together because, he really wants to go to Germany next year too. It IS a great excuse to see new places. I've been to some interesting places myself. I've been to Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, all 4 UK countries and Italy. I've been back to Liverpool, 13 times now & even graduated with a degree from there. Life has truly blessed me, I'll say that. I take a good around me at times & am amazed. Well, I truly hope you can get to go. I've seen some of your photography and it is terrific! I LOVE taking photos myself but, mine is very stinky. I'm not very good at all but, I still like to have fun & try. Every trip I have documented on a CD with at least 200+ photos per trip. CVS pharmacy has a great deal, 200 photos for $3 on 1 disk. Well, I hope you'll add me on Facebook or e-mail me & let's schedule that "meeting" finally. I think it would be a blast. Hope to talk to you, Elizabeth Matlack (on FB). |

I've been to Australia & New Zealand in May 2011 with my roommate & it was one of the best trips I've ever done. It was on my bucket list so to speak, to go there & I can't believe I made it. I've been to other countries too. Life has been good. Speaking of Springsteen, are you a fan? I am from his "country" here in NJ. You should see him here. I am involved myself with seeing bands travelling too. Two specific bands I've "followed" are: Echo and the Bunnymen and Depeche Mode. Well, good luck again & here's hoping you get what you'd like! |

Subject: Re:Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 28 Nov 2012 - 16:24 GMT I also have travelled to see Eddie perform throughout the US and to Canada and the UK. I'm thinking of going to Croatia for his 2013 shows. It's always an interesting event in one way or another. Go for it.....Ramona

Subject: Re:Dream tour....or is yours already planned? Posted: 29 Nov 2012 - 01:39 GMT I'm half Croatian, so it would be fun to go outside of Zagreb and see where my grandparents were from. Also I've heard Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful places and Eddie is gigging there, so it all sort of makes sense to go, catch a couple of Eddie shows and travel around for 10 days or so.
Eddie is also doing a show in Kathmandu, Nepal which I would love to go to. I havent' been in Kathmandu in 20 years. But the timing of when the event is most likely won't work for me for that's right during my field season, so that also is why I'm thinking Croatia. Ramona |
