Thanks to The Future Mrs. Izzard I found out about these works in Progress shows at Trepany House in the Steve Allen Theater here in SoCal.

If you've never seen Eddie at a really small venue before (seats 99) you're in for a real treat! He seems to like interacting with the audience a lot at these loose and casual gigs as he tries out new material for the upcoming World Tour Force Majeure!

At any rate, you'll see the flash in his baby blues and witness his comedy process as he works things out hilariously! :D

Tickets are only $20 + 2.50 ... a real steal I think! I'm bringing my son and daughter and a few other family members for an early Christmas prezzie to ourselves :)

Have a great time....that sounds so fun....I love the small intimate theaters. And at $20 it can't be beat. I would go but I just saw Eddie's show at Cal Poly in early November. He has alot of new material. The new dressage bit is great.....

Ah yes I read your other post Ramona: dressage and also looking forward to human sacrifice, Easter Island, men in wigs, and tin mining and whatever else catches his fancy that evening. :) Thanks for your input!

Will do my best to keep you informed jgod :-)

Can I say now that when I first saw

I saw "tre pantyhose tix" - which in Eddie's case would work out well

So Yeah..... there we were, all 7 of my family in the 3rd row of a hall of 99 seats (plus SRO), small elevated stage with the rock and roll pre-show music getting us bouncing in our seats in anticipation of an intimate night with Eddie :)

He dressed in his standard uniform of choice these days, blue blazer, white shirt and jeans, and his gorgeously manicured long nails (8 blazing red and two brit flags on the ring fingers). He commented during the show how "Boy's nails are ever so much stronger than girl's. I think if I were in a fight with an attacking tiger my claws would let me go at him with a sense of confidence, .... at least until he ate me" :D

He also wore two sparkling diamond stud earrings and the salt and pepper go-tee beard.

The opening material was currently political, well done US for keeping Obama and letting the rest of the world breathe a huge sigh of relief. My favorite new bit was the dressage mime, a lovely bit of facial expressions with his playful dance moves.

I'd say the show was about 50% new topics at the start and 50% well traveled solid laughs from Stripped to flesh it out to a little over 90 minutes of joy! There is a good bit of work still to do, but he's well on his way to the new Force Majeure :):)

Our pre-show dinner at Micheli's with their super-talented singing waiters and Eddie's show made it a truly memorable night celebrating my youngest's graduation from Portland State University!!! I wish you all could have been with us.

Fantabulous report Clay! Thanks! I swear this lad has been gigging on or around my birthday for the last several years! Hopefully one of these days I'll actually attend a B-day gig! :)
