Vespa, Druish Princess from the Land of Ciao
|
It's n some time since we've "meeted and greeted" in a positive way, so I thought maybe we could all gin again and reintroduce ourselves or hopefully, with new s, meet for the first time.
I'm in marketing, public relations and customer service. Married, one grown child and one grandchild, all of whom I adore.
I'm also a writer and have one completed novel and two in the works, plus poetry and short stories I hope to have published.
I have n a fan of Eddie's for at 10 years. I saw him on cable in D2K and fell totally in love with the man and his talent. I have VHS and DVD s of nearly everything he has done in film and on telly.
I have seen Eddie perform live three times, twice with my dear friend Srvsbabe - and hope Eddie comes back to our city again soon!
Now please tell all of us about you

Ok Vespa, here goes -
Hi! I'm HappyCat - a yoga teacher and energy healer in NYC.
I have 4 cats. My little Puja recently passed away, but she had a long, wonderful life - 15 years - not bad for a Himalayan. Beneri, Gabriella, Sashi and Precious now keep me entertained - don't know where I'd be without 'em.
I first got introduced to Eddie about a year ago when I was recovering from major surgery and all I wanted to do was laugh. A friend gave me Live from Wembley and I was off and running! (no not really, I was stuck in bed).
Watching Eddie has truly inspired me to change the way I teach - with more humor, laughter and joy! When people relax in class and have fun, they get so much more benefit. My students noticed the difference when I started teaching again after a 6 month leave - they were getting the REAL me, inspired by Eddie!
My life is truly A M A Z I N G now. Thanks to Eddie, I re-discovered my love for the theatre, which I had pushed aside for over 30 years. Not anymore!! I have a rule - at least 1 performance a week, no excuses! (I've discovered how to do this on the cheap, which is really good!!!) I can't believe what a difference this makes!!! I am doing what I truly love to do, and love whatever it is I'm doing - what could be better than that??!!!
I'm so looking forward to seeing him in NY - he'll be here in a week - yeah!!!
So, that's my story. Someone else, please?

I've blathered here a few times but have never introduced myself...
I'm Susan, have been a fan of Eddie for about 5 years now. I first saw him in Ocean's 12 and 13, but didn't take notice of him until I watched the Riches. I didn't even know he was a comedian then! But then I happened on his Stripped tour while browsing through Ticketmaster, and of course I had to go see him! After his show in Portland (about 4 years ago now) I came to appreciate him much more as a comic.
Since then I've seen him a few other times...in 'Race' in NYC (I got to shake his hand after the show!), a Q&A in SFO for 'Believe', and just recently in LA for his work in progress gigs for Force Majeure. I can't get enough of the man, he is such an inspiration !
More about me....after having worked in retail for over 10 years, I've decided to go back to school and am currently working to finish my biochemistry degree. Yes, that is a huge 180 degrees from retail, but I do like to switch gears quite a bit sometimes, my interests are so varied. I'd have to say that Eddie (and my husband) have been an influence on me to just go for what I want in life and not listen to any nay-sayers who may be standing in my way.
I also have 2 great step-kids in their early 20's and 3 wonderful cats who keep me sane.
Oh, and I am a child of the 80's so I'm still a huge fan of Duran Duran (I'm sure some of you will groan at that one).

Eddie came to my life at a...well, not low point but I had come frumpy, lumpy and dumpy (three of my least favorite dwarves :-} )
I saw D2K on HBO and felt I'd met a kindred spirit, a sense of humor and whimsy I could relate to like none other.
That blue eyed sexie man changed a lot for me, including how I felt about myself - and I will always happy I got to know the man in the makeup.

hi im moira ..im from london and for six years worked at Marks&Spencer stand alone store on oxford street then became a community worker, which i am now.
im seperated , and have been for years, and have a grown up family.of whom im very proud .
I have no partner or boyfriend ,sadly, but work and stuff keeps me busy.
Ive been an izzardite (as we used to call ourselves) since 1992 which is almost 21years hehehe, scarey. and have been on all versions of the eddie site and board this being the fourth or fifth version ,although i havent attended here for a long time. im on twitter as it is quick and easy after a long day x
Eddie has evolved in the most interesting way and keeps going forward all the time in a way that is both tiring and inspirational
ive had quite a few encounters with him all of them facinating although maybe theres a time limit on those stage door moments, after the first decade hehehe. lovely to say hi and meet you all xxx

Hi I'm Ramona, I'm a self employed plant ecologist from northern Utah, US. I'm somewhat a workaholic. I happened on to Eddie in 1999 and have never turned back. I have been fortunate to see Eddie live many times and have also spoken with him several times. As Moira stated not every encounter was grand, but in general I can say that Eddie is very nice, interested, sweet, and sometimes playful. I don't agree with all his thoughts and positions but I do love him and I know I am here for the long haul. I think Eddie is so bright, inquisitive, funny and lovely and it really is so fascinating to watch him evolve in his life in every aspect.
I also think Eddie surrounds himself with the best people and some of the people that work for him (like Mick and Helen and James) are fantastic people. I also love! that Sarah is surfacing. She is such a talent in her own right that it's nice she has more exposure.
My encouragement to newbies is to attend multiple shows for Eddie can really mix things up from one night to the next and there has been a few mimes he's done in one show that I've never seen again.
That's all....bye bye for now.

Hi Happy Cat, glad to know you're a cat lover. I am too. I have two cats and within the last year am also supporting 6 feral cats (long story). I have always thought that animals are psychic, and I often check my impressions of people with my cats' responses to them....

Hi Ramona - I agree that animals of psychic - some of my cats certainly have been. I used to call my first cat Bert my "spiritual director" - he just seemed to know things.
And thanks for the heads up on attending multiple shows. My hunch was to do so, since this is the first time I'm seeing Eddie. Glad I was right!
