A performance to treasure from bold intention to unique achievement

Sir Ian McKellen

After a sell-out tour of Australia & New Zealand and now celebrating over 300 performances! – Suzy Eddie Izzard is bringing her acclaimed solo performance of ‘The Tragedy of Hamlet’ by William Shakespeare back to the De La Warr Pavilion for a final benefit performance before the auditorium is closed for an update and a refit.

Hamlet reviews: “An impressive, sweeping performance” (The London Telegraph), “A monstrous achievement” (Sydney Morning Herald), “Awesome to witness… this masterwork never lets up” (LA Times), “Suzy Eddie Izzard makes an exceptional Hamlet” (BroadwayWorld), “A performance to treasure” (Sir Ian McKellen), “Spectacular” (Dame Judi Dench)

The King of Denmark is dead and Prince Hamlet is determined to take revenge, initiating a cascade of events that will destroy both family and state.

Akin to the original performances of HAMLET, this production is performed on the blank canvas of a bare stage, letting Shakespeare’s words and pure storytelling take the spotlight.

“The thrill of seeing a fearless, indefatigable performer single-handedly populate the stage with the myriad figures of this masterwork never lets up” (Los Angeles Times)
